Any number squarerooted: \sqrt{n} = n^{1/2}

(\sqrt{x^{-5}} + x^{-5} y^7 x^{-2}) + (x^9 y^{-2} x^9)

= (x^{-5/2} + x^{(-5-2)} y^7) + x^{(9+9)} y^{-2}

= x^{-5/2} + x^{-7} y^7 + x^{18} y^{-2}
