Choose two colors at random. What is the probability that both are silver or white?

I'm learning disjoint and independence right now in statistics. I believe that these are independent, so would it be 0.176 * 0.172?

Thanks
The probability that your first color is silver is 0.176. So the probability that both of your colors are silver is (0.176)(0.176), because we assume that your second color is independent from your first color.

Same for the white: the probability that both are white is: (0.172)(0.172)

Since these are disjoint probabilities, you can add them up directly. So total probability is:
0.176^2 + 0.172^2
