A lot of you probably found these laws really funny (and they are) but these laws make me angry instead of finding them funny. The main reason is not even that they are stupid it is just that they take away from our freedom. As George Carlin said (I think it was his last performance) that we have no rights, all we have are privledges. Having laws that allow people to do certain things (or preventing certain behavoirs) is not a right, it is a privledge. Just take for example what Moo posted about Utah, "it is illegal to tickle a woman or make love in daylight". That is not freedom. For me the true meaning of freedom is to allow a couple to have sex in the daylight out in the public while simultaneously injecting themselves with heroine and screaming the word "queer". |
