Default Plotting Asymptotes in Mathematica

Hi.
I'm just starting to learn how to use Mathematica, and I can't work out how to plot a graph, such as y=\frac{a}{x-b}+c, without it showing the vertical asymptote.

I would also like to know if there's a way to show the horizontal asymptote on the graph.

Thanks for your help
