If your threads are missing it is because they were moved that their proper locations. For example, you asked a question how to solve for x, then it is probably in the Algebra section.

If you still cannot find your thread then perhaps it got renamed. For example you called a thread "Algebra help" while it really was about the pythagorean theorem then it got renamed probably to "Geometry help".
