Default Mathematical Modeling Books
Hi all

I'm taking a mathematical modeling course in the fall and to the best of my knowledge there is no required text for the course. Can anyone suggest a book on modeling to supplement my course? The course will not require the use of PDE, so ideally nothing with too much of that as far as the text goes. Obviously I can find a number online, but I would be nice to hear if anyone has had a particular experience with one (one way or another).

We used the following textbook in a graduate-level modeling class, but it could just as easily be used in an undergraduate class:

just out of curiosity: there must be some open problems in mathematical modeling which are also mathematically interesting. does anyone know any?
