Median Help

Can't do this!! I need to know what happens when you have 8 numbers, put them in order, and then have two numbers in the middle when you cross them off. PLEASE HELP ME! Example -0, 1, 1, 2, 4, 4, 5, 6 Then you have 2 and 4 left. What do you do???

find the middle of two and four (in other words, add them together then divide by 2): $\frac{2+4}{2}=\frac{6}{2}=3$

now try finding the median of: 1,2,3,4

and you get: $\frac{2+3}{2}=\frac{5}{2}=2.5$
