Default Need help on TI-89 to solve Complex number

I know how to use "simple" complex number on TI-89
for example: 8+i3

but how about if there is two equations and we want to solve for x and y:
for example: (1+i1.5)x + i2.5y=20 and 11x + 15y=0
solve for x and y.

Is it possible to do the calculation using solve(
I tried to do it, but I kept getting "false" answer.

Any responds would be GREATLY appreciated.

Best regards,
RC

Hello,

Did you use the special i button ?
Are x and y real numbers or complex numbers ?
What did you enter exactly ?

Try :

cSolve((1+i*1.5)*x+i*2.5*y=20 and 11x+15y=0, {x,y})

cSolve is for solving in the set of complex numbers.
(I've always liked to put * for multiplying, because it sometimes yield errors, so I find it wiser to do it the first time ;p)

Yay ! It works

And just so you know, you don't need the * here
