| | new calculator question Hi
I've bought my first scientific calculator and I'm having a problem w/decimals. The main problem is that when I put in (for example) .04 x .04, the answer I get is 1 over 625! I've looked through the booklet that came w/the calc. No help at all. I know this probably has a simple and obvious answer, but, I just can't figure it out!!!
Thanks
Oh yeah, the calc. is a Casio fx-3000ES. |

Oh yeah, the calc. is a Casio fx-3000ES. | use the [MODE] key, press it 4 times and press 1 for the rationals -- which you have. use the [MODE] key, press it 3 times for the decimal representation. The book explains it. Check under "mode" |

| | I did check out the mode key. I have the calc set in general calculations. Not sure what else needs to be changed. But, I'll look at it again. Thanks for the response! |

| | Have you tried resetting the calculator?
Also, do you have scientific notation on? | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
