| | Paint help Does anyone know how to resize those MS Paint files? Just look here at post #2. The thing is huge, but the actual diagram isn't nearly that large.
It doesn't seem to matter, either, if I crop the size of the Paint screen down to a reasonable size. When the file shows on the Forum, it still has that large field of blank space.
Any suggestions? (Aside from buying a decent program, that is.)

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." - The Litany Against Fear, "Dune" by Frank Herbert |

| | I used paint to resize the image. I saved it as a *.gif file to reduce the file size. |

Instead of buying a decent program, do a search for Paint Shop Pro 3. It is a great shareware program that never actually expires. I have been using it for over 10 years (or something like that!)

| | I got this by cropping (in MS Paint)
I have no idea what you did wrong. Maybe you forgot to hit the save button or something like that
I use paint for a lot of the diagrams I post here, and I've never had any problems. I usually save them in .gif format, as Plato did, but here I didn't, it is still in .bmp |

-Dan | As a first comment I would suggest you generate such diagrams in a vector graphics program rather than a bitmap graphics program. If you have M$ office installed use PowerPoint, if you have OpenOffice use Simpress or Sdraw.
Then <alt> PrtScrn to capture to the clipboard as a bit map paste into PSP or the photo editor that comes with Office or into Paint and clip to size (and with either of the first two resample to a 600 or 800 pixels wide image).
