| | Distinguished Road It seems to me that when it comes to reputation, everyone is on a distinguished road. How much +reps do we need to be more than on a distinguished road? (or will Math Guru make us wait to find out) |

judge the relative weight to apply to the utterances of the regulars.
So if you see a particularly helpful reply to a post (not necessarily
one of your own) you can/should use the rep system to indicate
your approval. Similarly if a post is particularly unhelpful/abusive
you should give negative feedback on the rep system.
(If you receive negative rep feedback that you think is unjust let
the Admins/Moderators know and they may if they agree with you
change it).

| | I am still questioning the effectiveness of this system. I, myself, have 17 reputation points. However, noone here (except I'm betting the moderators) can tell that I have more reputation than any other member, including newbies, because there is no marker or anything that tells you something besides "insert name here is on a distinguished road".
The only way that I have found to judge peoples reputation is by going to the members list and telling it to order everyone reputation wise (I have the sixth highest reputation)(apparently I'm losing to charlie wiggam, who's never actually posted a response) |

| | I finally found it...the levels of reputation are as follows (this is assuming that the reputation is still on a default setting) Code: Title minimum reputation
User is infamous around these parts -999999
User can only hope to improve -50
User has a little shameless behaviour in the past -10
User is an unknown quantity at this point 0
User is on a distinguished road 10
User will become famous soon enough 50
User has a spectacular aura about 150
User is a jewel in the rough 250
User is just really nice 350
User is a glorious beacon of light 450
User is a name known to all 550
User is a splendid one to behold 650
User has much to be proud of 1000
User has a brilliant future 1500
User has a reputation beyond repute 2000
(obviously this scale was made for a bigger site)
(hopefully MHF will become a bigger site)

(hopefully MHF will become a bigger site) | Or one where the users are more likely to give reputation feedback.

RonL | I wonder if you are referring to me (as I tend to be [LaTeX Error: Syntax error] stingy ), besides, I think I can only give a point of reputation...
I'm wishing that normal users could give +reps, as I have two people that gave me +reps that didn't count for anything. |

I think when you have been a member for 183 days you gain +1 point of
rep giving power - you must be close to or over that hill
(and I cant give you rep for this thread - the system tell me I have
to spead rep about more before I can give you rep again)
