Default Recomend it to me

Honestly their is so many things to choose from! so many math fields I am unaware of! I would like to request that you guys give me links to different kind of math things (links that explain what its about and stuff) So I could browse through it all and choose what Mathematical branch I would like to look into.

it would help if you told us more about you. what level of math are you at. what did you like in the math you have taken before? we may be able to suggest similar topics that provide more interesting content

by the way, welcome to the forum! did you sign the introduction post? if not, i encourage you to do so. if you want to, but can't find it, tell me and i'll give you the link

seriously, Chris, you're too anti-social you should open up to people more and introduce yourself...ok, so i haven't signed either, but do as i say, not as i do

just do a search for "introductions", there are two such threads so far, the first one is full

It's too late for me, save yourself!

but seriously, i've been here for about a year and a half. I have over 8,500 posts, I'm a helper and pretty much anybody who spends a bit of time here knows me. it would be silly for me to sign now

don't be embarrassed, and don't beat yourself too much (banging your head against a wall is likely to hurt your ability in math )

so here's the thing. you need the basics. math is cummulative, you need to build on the basics if you want to tackle the hard stuff. in my experience, not doing this hurts students. for instance, most of the time a calculus student tells you they have trouble with calculus, it is actually basic algebra that is messing them up, i know, i've been a tutor at my school for a while now. and many areas of math are inter-connected like that. my suggestion to you is to polish your algebra skills, then attack precalculus and calculus. that will give you a good basis to go on to interesting things. if you want to get really crazy with it, you have to surpass calc 3, and then you can see what tickles your fancy

uhhhhh? hmmm Well I got a Algebra 1 text book that I could start reading and stuff the only problem is that I am not to good at that, well at least I could do it good but I am not good at trying to learn something like math without someone who is more learned in that area telling me that I have learned something correctly or not.

i know what you mean, i'm a lot like that. well, you could always find someone to go through the stuff with you. a friend, a professor etc. or you could use this forum to discuss what you learn or to get feedback on the way you did a problem, and for tips on what to look for, and think about.
