Honestly their is so many things to choose from! so many math fields I am unaware of! I would like to request that you guys give me links to different kind of math things (links that explain what its about and stuff) So I could browse through it all and choose what Mathematical branch I would like to look into.  |

it would help if you told us more about you. what level of math are you at. what did you like in the math you have taken before? we may be able to suggest similar topics that provide more interesting content

by the way, welcome to the forum! did you sign the introduction post? if not, i encourage you to do so. if you want to, but can't find it, tell me and i'll give you the link | Thanks for the reply I am very embarrassed to say that I am only in Algebra 1   I am a Senior in high school but I screwed up (only did not pay attention mainly not handing in my homework is what is making me take this class for the third time in a row ) I know the stuff and can pick it up easly but not as easly as with instruction so my basic math history or skill is Algebra 1  sad I know, I would love to learn uhhh math theory? lol I got no idea I just want to learn a tuff not well studied kind of math. |

so here's the thing. you need the basics. math is cummulative, you need to build on the basics if you want to tackle the hard stuff. in my experience, not doing this hurts students. for instance, most of the time a calculus student tells you they have trouble with calculus, it is actually basic algebra that is messing them up, i know, i've been a tutor at my school for a while now. and many areas of math are inter-connected like that. my suggestion to you is to polish your algebra skills, then attack precalculus and calculus. that will give you a good basis to go on to interesting things. if you want to get really crazy with it, you have to surpass calc 3, and then you can see what tickles your fancy
