"I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." - The Litany Against Fear, "Dune" by Frank Herbert |

| | "Towel Heads"
Recently I received a warning about the use of this
politically incorrect term, so please note, we all
need to be more sensitive in our choice of words.
I have been informed the Islamic terrorists, who hate our guts and want to kill us, do not like to be
called "Towel Heads", since the item they wear on
their heads is not actually a towel, but in fact, a
small folded sheet.
Therefore, from this point forward, please refer to
them as "Little Sheet Heads."
Thank you for your support and compliance on this
delicate matter.

| | I was having trouble with my computer. So I called Rick the computer guy, to come over. Rick clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem. He gave me a bill for a minimum service call. As he was walking away, I called after him,
"So, what was wrong?"
He replied,
"It was an ID ten T error."
I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired:
"An ID ten T error?
What's that ... in case I need to fix it again?"
The computer guy grinned....
"Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?"
"No," I replied.
"Write it down," he said, "
and I think you'll figure it out."
So I wrote out ...... I D 1 0 T
(IDIOT)

RonL | He said "celebrities".
I am not, and I will never be. How much I despise them.

It happened again today.
My professor was giving us a Differencial equations test and told the class to align in a matrix.

What is often surprising is that people will actually thank you in a post
but not use the button

research and coding just to find what the intended algorithm was and the
errors in what was posted before I could even start thinking about the
solution. Not sure if I received +rep for that - just found it got three thanks
for that

when they should. But there are a small number that use it regularly.
Now if you ask me those people seem to get more help than the others
Maybe there should be a sticky somewhere asking people to use the thanks
button if a post is hopefully, and pointing out they are more likely to receive
better help in future if they do.

At least I thanked one of your posts |
