Default Is Punctuation Important?

Two versions of a "Dear John" letter.
Same words, different punctuation equals totally different meaning.

Dear John:

I want a man who knows what love is all about.
You are generous, kind, thoughtful.
People who are not like you admit to being useless and inferior.
You have ruined me for other men. I yearn for you.
I have no feelings whatsoever when we're apart.
I can be forever happy--will you let me be yours?

Very good example

Punctuation making a huge difference in meaning is common is Romance languages I would think, at least the ones that rely on word order. If you are writing in a language that declines, like Latin or Russian, then the part of speech every word is is known by its ending so there might be less confusion. I really love linguistics, thanks again.
