I read it. Hmm... I feel that the term has been obscured and cast into oblivion. Why would they not call a person who enjoys programming a programmer?

To be a hacker is certainly taboo, is it not?

used to be anyway. Mayhap I'm gettin' on up there in years. Dang them newfangled hacker folk!

So, if I hear you correctly, if I were to - hypothetically, of course - learn a thing or two about S.E.O. and proverbially scratch your back, you would, perhaps, in turn scratch mine?

. . . dang it. Should have just kept my mouth shut then. Yes, of course, I mean a hacker is someone that's really good at programming and I'm a better programmer than a mathematician that's all. But I ran into a good example of the searching problem above:

Suppose I wanted to search for the integral:

\int_{-\pi/2}^{\pi/2}\frac{\ln(1+b\,\sin(x))}{\sin(x)}dx

Now, how do I find every record with that (indefinite) integral in it and even when the b is different or log instead of ln, Jesus, while I'm at it, how about a cosine or too?

When I was in college, about 20 B. C. (before computers), a "hacker" was a person who spent all of his time studying. A "hack course" was a course that required a lot of memorization and mindless work while a "hack" was a practical joke.
