My lecturer recommend me "Higher Engineering Mathematics" by B V Ramana, but I feel this book is not suitable for me.
Can anyone give me some suggestions?

Why do you think it not suitable? (without knowing this how can anyone make a sensible suggestion)

(If the lecturer recommends it is it not possible they will be using it as the course text)

When I first read it, I found that it looks like tell me very thing by words first, then example. So, When I read the text, I feel hard to digest.
The books I used before always give text with relevant example.
