| | [12:25 BST] England have taken a wicket! Phil Hughes is gone, caught behind off the bowling of James Anderson for 4, and Australia are in all sorts of trouble, one wicket down for 4 runs in reply to England’s 425 all out. Update [12:45 BST]: Australia have just lost captain Ricky Ponting as well, caught by his opposite number Andrew Strauss off the bowling of Anderson for 2, and are now 2 down for 10! Update [17:03 BST]: After a fightback, the Australians are now 103 for 3, Simon Katich gone for 48, caught by Stuart Broad off Graham Onions. Update [17:20 BST]: Make that 111 for 4! Michael Hussey is bowled by Andrew Flintoff for 51. Update [17:25 BST]: Ooh! Looks like the Aussies are crumbling! Michael Clarke departs for just 1, Alistair Cook taking a catch to dismiss him off the bowling of Anderson, and it’s now 5 down for 111! Update [17:50 BST]: Marcus North goes for a horrible-looking shot, and plays on! Anderson has a fourth wicket, and Australia are 139 for 6! Update [18:01 BST]: And it’s 148 for 7! Mitchell Johnson top-edges a short delivery from Broad, and Cook takes a fairly simple catch on the square-leg boundary. Update [18:16 BST]: And now it’s Brad Haddin to go! He has been playing rather solidly for his 28, but suddenly loses concentration, miscuing a Broad delivery and holing out to Cook at midwicket. I must say the last few dismissals are rather soft ones, coming at a time when Australia, still some way to go to avoid the follow-on, can ill afford to lose too many cheap wickets. As it is, they are now 8 down for 152.

| | Ouch! The Aussies are in all sorts, who would've thought after having England on the ropes in the first test?

| | England received a lot of criticism after the First Test for not being positive enough. They are now responding to the criticisms in the Second Test, playing the way they should have played (or how the critics think they should have played) in the First Test – and it seems to be working well so far. |

| | The series maybe, not this particular Test match. England are absolutely on top now. I can see them setting Australia something between 500 and 600 before lunch tomorrow, which would be all but impossible for the Aussies to chase; the best they can then hope to get is a draw – and they will have to bat very, very much better than they did in the first innings to save the match.
If Australia lose this match, they will have three more Tests to turn the series round. Still, I must say that this Australian squad doesn’t look as strong as the previous touring Ashes squad in 2005 – and, mind you, that squad lost the Ashes series in 2005. |

| | Stumps Day 4, 2nd test
England 425
Australia 215
England 6/311
Australia 5/313
Australia should be 3/313 as the ball hit the ground first on Strauss' catch to get Hughes. Also Flintoff bowled a no-ball in Katich's dismisall.
Aussies are 208 behind the first session (England with the new ball) on day 5 will pretty much decide the match.

The Aussies were the better cricket team in 2005 but England outplayed them. Classic series.

| | COME ON ENGLAND!
the aussies have lost all there great players like justin langer, glen mcgrath, shane warne and Michael Kasprowicz. but they still got ponting who likes to get stuck in and get big scored on the board, and brett lee will be very good in the remaining tests. |

| | Back here in Oz we (the public) are calling for Warnie's return, we must have no faith in our bowlers.
