Well, what "counting techniques" do you know? Do you know the "fundamental counting principle": if A can "happen" in n ways, and, for each of those B can "happen in m ways, then A and B can happen together in mn ways. Do you know what permutations and combinations are? If someone expects you to be able to do these problems, you must know
something about these things!
