$Default$ Augmenting paths

I wanted to know, if I am augmenting a path, can i go backwards on a edge which has not been used on any of the previous augmented paths i.e the edge still has a flow of 0, but maximum capacity is 3.

So if i go backwards on the edge in a augmenting path it would have a flow of -2.

Can a negative flow be allowed?
