That could be a piece of land where the four sides are known only.
If there is a land title or a land description showing the four boundaries of the lot in lenths and bearings, then any land surveyor could get the exact area of the land.
If you, howver just want to get it yourself, or if there is no land title or what, then here is one method you can do.
Establish any random point inside the lot. The point could be closer to the center of the lot if possible. You should be able to meaure the distances from that point to the four corners of the lot.
When your done measuring, you have subdivided the lot into four triangles whose sides are all known.
Get the areas of tose four triangles and you get the area of the whole lot.
Area of any triangle whose three sides (a,b,c) are known is given by the Heron's formula
area A = sqrt[s*(s-a)*(s-b)*(s-c)] ------**
where s = (1/2)(a +b +c)
