Default Favorite Text editor

I've started using vim.
Anyone have a favorite text editor for latex, or can suggest a good one?

I'm using TeXmaker and it's worked out pretty nicely so far, though the undo button is pretty dodgy. To be honest though I only started using it because the interface looks alot simpler and friendlier than TeXnikcenter.

Is there much difference between various editors?
