using LaTeX, type [math]\frac{\,dy}{\,dx}[/math] to get \frac{\,dy}{\,dx}, [math]\frac{d^2y}{\,dx^2}[/math] to get \frac{d^2y}{\,dx^2}, and [math]\theta[/math] to get \theta. However, I prefer [math]\vartheta[/math] to get \vartheta

You can find more tutorials and the such in the LaTeX Help part of the forums.

Furthermore:

[math]\dot{x}[/math] gives \dot{x}

[math]\ddot{x}[/math] gives \ddot{x}
