Default Difference Quotients

Difference Quotients are a concept I have yet to fully understand. I just find myself simplifying the equation until I get one number, but I know thats not the point of the problem.

No rush necessary. I have till tuesday.

EDIT

well, it depends. it might be the point for you to get one number. it depends on the problem. the real point of problems like those are to test your knowledge of composite functions and your ability to simplify
