Default length of each stick

There are 3 sticks. First stick is half of the second stick. Second stick is 6 inches more than the third stick. Total length of all sticks is 44 inches. What is the length in inches of each stick?

Hello Mccoy,

Let x = length of 2nd stick.

Let \frac{1}{2}x = length of 1st stick.

Let \frac{1}{2}x-6 = length of 3rd stick.

Let 44 = total length.

Now we have x+\frac{1}{2}x+\frac{1}{2}x-6=44

Can you finish?
