    oh that pdf is pretty good, thanks. I looked at page 22 of it, but it doesn't say which cut points O-O has that are infinite. We just need to find out if the shape O-C (shape (iv) without a point) is still 1 path or 2...

    well, my friend told me another way of doing it.
    So I need to ask you something:
    You know how the OP for that question said that he thinks both shapes have infinite cut points of type 1, well my friend said that iv) doesn't have any of type 1. Basically, it's obvious that taking any point from the line between the circles isn't a 1-point, but what about on either circle?
    Say if you take a point out of the circle of iv), it will leave something like O-C so do you think that is still 1 path or 2 path connected subsets?
