You need to work backwards. Find half of 240. Take that number and find 3/4 of it.

this is a place where some math vocabulary will help. note that in math, "of" means "multiply".

so saying 3/4 of 1/2 of 240 is the same as saying \frac 34 \times \frac 12 \times 240
