Can someone help me solve 4X4/8+9+1/2X3-4+6

multiplication first, so

(4X4/8)+9+(1/2X3)-4+6 = 2 + 9 + 1.5 - 4 + 6 = 14.5

ok, so you need to use parentheses. there is no way of knowing what you mean for sure. there are so many ways to interpret what you typed

I meant (4X4/8)+9+(1/2X3)-4+6 = 2 + 9 + 1.5 - 4 + 6 = 14.5

so you work out the brackets first and then the rest.

sorry for the delay - i am new to site and learning how to reply etc. thank you so much for your help and answer! my 11 year old son and i worked out the problem and your answer proved us right!
