Please repost CLEARLY.
Use / for divisions or fractions: like x/5
Use ^ for power: like x^2

And it will help if you show some of your work,
so we know where you're stuck.

Default Help

I know you asked me to post some of my answers, but the only reason I need help with those is because I do not know how to do them, so if you do know how to do them, maybe you can do a few and I will follow and do the rest. Thank you for your help.

Go here:
SOLVING EQUATIONS

You should be ok if you try a few.
Come back with specific problems encountered while trying to solve.

Good job in your reposting; just one not proper: 2)2x – 1/2 – x + 5/3 = 2
Should be (2x - 1) / 2 - (x + 5) / 3 = 2 : brackets IMPORTANT

Then the first thing you need is some lessons.

To learn how to solve linear equations, try here.

To learn how to solve quadratic equations, try here.

Please study at least two lessons from each link, taking the time to detour through factoring quadratics, if needed.

Once you have learned the necessary background material, please attempt the exercises. If you get stuck, you can then reply with a clear listing of your steps and reasoning thus far, so we can see where you're having trouble.

Thank you!

OR...one can learn \text{\LaTeX}...

i.e. [math]\frac{a+b}{c+d}[/math] generates \frac{a+b}{c+d}, [math]ax^2+bx+c=0[/math] generates ax^2+bx+c=0.

If a [new] member learns just the basics (fractions, powers, square roots, etc), it will make the post more readable and decrease the chances of miscommunication (as seen here in this thread).

To learn more, see the LaTeX Help Subforum.

Default Trying

7x+2y=-17
4x+5y=-2

my first part of my answer;
14x + 4y = -34
12x - 15y=-6

26x+19y= -40 (subtract 19)
26x = -59
-59/26 = 2.269

I want to know if i am on the right track before I continue, thank you.

It was not really helpful, so I guess I will have to make my tutor go over this method with me again, since I am not grasping the topic. And I am not receiving an examples here. Thanks again.

Problem is, Soul, that it's almost impossible to teach something from
scratch here; no classroom, chalkboard and the likes.

If you were not able to follow the examples at that link I gave you,
then I agree that it's better to have your tutor do the talking...
