Default equation of perpendicular line

find the equation through (6,5) and perpendicular to the line through (1,3) and (4,5).

what are the steps in solving this problem. thank u!!

so flip the numerator and denom and add negative sign?


so inthis case the equation will be y = \frac{-3}{2}x + 14

Yes. The slope of the perpendicular line is the negative reciprocal of the given slope.
