| | Thread UNSOLVED option... I know there's a thread solved thread option but what about a thread unsolved option that could only be used after at least one person has replied?
Let me explain...
A huge percentage of the questions are answered by a small percentage of users here.
How many folk who regularly answer questions use the unanswered thread search option, probably quite a lot. Personally if I decide to go on an answering session (usually small one...) then I'll go straight to the unanswered thread search and probably ignore any thread that has replies in it as I'll most likely assume it has been answered adequately.
But often a reply won't answer the question fully and if the OP has questions the thread might go ignored due to people assuming the same as me.
Perhaps it would also eliminate bumps and thus keep new threads at the top.
Might just be me who thinks like this but.. Just a thought. | | The Following 5 Users Say Thank You to Deadstar For This Useful Post: | | |

It's also a timely reminder to all users that once a post gets a reply - any sort of reply, including a bump or the useless "Hey, I have the same question too" - the thread will no longer show up as unanswered when the Search tool is used. This is one reason why useless replies are against forum rules and will always get an Infraction.

| | This is another great suggestion and something I have thought about myself. As always the only difficulty is implementation. In the mean time, we should encourage members to not solely use the Unanswered Threads feature as a means of choosing threads to focus on. | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to Jameson For This Useful Post: | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
