| | Appropriate forum for numerical analysis? Where should questions related to this field go? (E.g. Lagrange interpolation, divided differences, etc)

| | Depends what type of numerical analysis, for example if you are approximating a solution to a DE using a Runge-Kutta scheme post it in Differential Equations.
Just have a think about what field of Mathematics it relates to most.

However, the advice given in post #2 should also be carefully considered.
If in doubt, post in the Advanced Applied Math subforum and report the post to a Moderator using the Report Post tool (the little triangle located top right corner of a post) requesting adjudication on which subforum is most appropriate.

Unless allied to a specific problem I would put it in "calculus" or "analysis and topology". But I know some purists would object to the latter.
