Default Personal messages begging for help

More than once in the last couple of days I've been contacted directly on my personal mailbox by users trying to continue a thread that I've replied to insisting that I give them individual attention. I've been responding with "Nope, sorry" or some such, suggesting they keep the conversation in the main forum.

I wonder whether it's worth putting something in the Forum Rules pointing out that it's rude to ask someone personally for help on a particular problem (or set of 40 or so problems, or whatever). I tend to ignore further ever more frantic replies after my initial demurral, but I'm afraid this may cause the disappointed querent to recoil from this site with a negative view of it.

Suggestions?

The usual recomendation is you delete such posts without replying (and possibly report them so we can give the culprit an infraction for begging).

If you forward any such pms to me I will issue an Infraction to the user.

Okay - I won't do that in this case, but in future I will. Thx.
