cos(2A)=cos^2(A)-sin^2(A)
sin(2A)=2sin(A)cos(A)
put in the above to get
[2cos^2 (A)+cos(A)] / [2sin(A)cos(A)+sin(A)]
Take cos(A) from numerator
& sin(A) from denominatorcommon you get cot(A)
