I especially like the one about the lies and statistics.

The biased media uses sloppy stats all the time to lie and obfuscate.

The classic (even if a bit dated now) for mine is still How To Lie With Statistics by Darrell Huff.

Thanks, MrF.

I am going to look that one up and purchase if I can find it. If it is nice enough I will use it in the next stats class I teach.

I often told my stats students how stats can be skewed (and down right made up) to make things sway to whatever side one wants. Namely, the scumbag media. The problem is, very few people know enough about stats to know any different and they believe the bovine fecal matter that is spewed.

Figures don't lie, but liars figure. - Samuel Clemens (alias Mark Twain)

There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics. - Twain attributed this to B. Disraeli

If your experiment needs statistics, you ought to have done a better experiment - Ernest Rutherford
